VERIFY IF FINALIZATION IS COMPLETED
• Is the finalization completed?

Yes
|
Perform the finalization and perform the repair completion verification.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY OPERATION RECORD
• Verify the operation record of the emergency call control module using the M-MDS.
• Is there a remaining call record indicating an attempted call?

Yes
|
The system is normal. (Explain to the customer that there may be a communication error due to the radio wave conditions.)

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY CALL METHOD WHEN MALFUNCTION OCCURRED
• Verify with the customer the conditions when a call was made.
• Was making a call by operating the emergency call switch attempted?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

INSPECT EMERGENCY CALL SWITCH FOR MALFUNCTION
• Inspect the applicable part.
• Is the part normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

VERIFY HOW AIR BAGS DEPLOY
• Does the air bag deploy?
|
Yes
|
Verify if there is no malfunction related to the air bag system.
• If there is no malfunction related to the air bag system, perform the repair completion verification.
|
No
|
The system is normal. (Explain to the customer that a call is not made by a small collision in which the air bags do not deploy.)

|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?

Yes
|
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
|
No
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the emergency call unit.
