Warning

• If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the front seat, the front seat will operate accidentally while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the front seat, shake it up and down and verify that the sliding mechanism on the both sides are locked.

• If cargo is put on the sensor detection area of the occupancy sensor, the sensor may respond.
1. Perform the following procedure. (without Mazda M Hybrid)
- (1) Switch the ignition off.

- (2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2. Perform the following procedure. (with Mazda M Hybrid, without seat warmer system)
- (1) Switch the ignition off.

- (2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

3. Perform the following procedure. (with Mazda M Hybrid, with seat warmer system)
- (1) Switch the ignition off.

- (2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

- (3) Verify if the ground plate needs to be disconnected and if it does, disconnect it. (See GROUND PLATE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4. Remove the passenger-side front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)])
5. Disconnect the C-62 connector.
6. Verify that the continuity between the occupancy sensor terminals is as indicated in the table.
