LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR INSPECTION

Liftgate Lock Actuator Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the liftgate latch and lock actuator. (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the liftgate latch and lock actuator terminals as indicated in the table below and verify the operation condition.

D	B	Release

•  If the operation cannot be verified, replace the liftgate latch and lock actuator. (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Liftgate Latch Switch Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the liftgate latch and lock actuator. (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the liftgate opener switch. (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Note

•  Press in the latch lever of the liftgate latch and lock actuator using a flathead screwdriver, and set it to the latched condition.
