Purpose/Function

• The washer motor supplies washer fluid in the washer tank to the washer nozzles.

Structure/Construction

• The washer motor is located on the washer tank.

Operation

1. When the front washer switch turns on (1), the instrument cluster detects (2) a front washer switch on signal.

2. The instrument cluster sends (3) the front washer switch on signal to the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.

3. When the body control module (BCM) receives the windshield washer switch on signal, it turns FET B and FET C on (4).

4. When FET B and FET C turn on, a ground circuit for the front washer relay is established and the washer motor operates (5) to supply washer fluid to the front washer nozzle.
