Windshield Wiper Motor Inspection

Note

•  The integrity of the windshield wiper motor cannot be determined from a single part. When inspecting the windshield wiper motor, perform the following procedure.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Perform the DTC inspection for the BCM and verify if any DTCs related to the windshield wiper motor is detected. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  If DTCs are detected, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (E)].)

Windshield Wiper Link Inspection

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

2.  Operate the windshield wipers at low speed.

3.  Verify the following:

•  Abnormal noise at the front wiper link part

•  Change in the operation range

4.  If there is a malfunction, replace the windshield wiper motor and link. (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
