PANEL LIGHT
id092200033000
Purpose
• The panel light adjusts the brightness of illumination lights such as the instrument cluster and steering switch illumination.
Functions
• The instrument cluster adjusts the brightness of the following illumination lights according to the panel light control switch signal.
-
― Instrument cluster
― Steering switch
― Cluster switch
― Drive selection switch
― Commander switch
― Cruise control switch
― Electric parking brake switch
― CD player
― Trunk lid opener switch
Structure/Construction
• The panel light control switch is positioned in the instrument cluster.
Operation
Panel light dimmer operation
-
Dimmer operation
-
1. When the instrument cluster detects a light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (1), it sends a light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (2) to the BCM.
2. When the TNS illumination conditions are met, the BCM sends a panel light dimming signal (3) to the instrument cluster.
3. When the instrument cluster receives the panel light dimming signal, it dims (4) the panel light.
-
Dimmer cancel operation
-
1. When the instrument cluster detects a light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (1), it sends a light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (2) to the BCM.
2. When the BCM determines that the vehicle surroundings are bright (6) based on the illumination level detected (5) by the auto light sensor even if the TNS illumination conditions are met, it sends a dimmer cancel request signal (7) to the instrument cluster.
3. When the instrument cluster receives the dimmer cancel request signal, it cancels (8) the dimming operation of the panel light.
Panel light control switch operation
-
Brightness level change operation
-
1. If the instrument cluster detects the panel light control switch signal (2) while receiving the panel light dimming signal (1), it sends a panel light control (+ or -) signal (3) to the BCM.
2. The BCM sends a brightness level control signal (4) to the instrument cluster based on the panel light control (+ or -) signal.
3. When the instrument cluster receives the brightness control signal, it changes (5) the brightness level of the panel light.
-
Dimmer cancel operation
-
1. If the instrument cluster detects the panel light control switch signal (2) while receiving the panel light dimming signal (1), it sends a panel light control (+ or -) signal (3) to the BCM.
2. When the BCM receives the panel light control (+) signal (5) while the panel light turns on at its maximum brightness level during dimming, it sends a dimmer cancel request signal (6) to the instrument cluster.
3. When the instrument cluster receives the dimmer cancel request signal, it cancels (8) the dimming operation of the panel light.
