Purpose

•  The emergency call unit controls the emergency call based on a collision detection signal from the SAS control module or emergency call switch operation signal.

Functions


Power supply switching function

•  If the power supply from the battery is cut off, the emergency call unit switches the power supply circuit to the built-in battery.
Note
•  It is necessary to replace the built-in battery periodically. For details, refer to the [EMERGENCY CALL UNIT BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual.


Emergency call operation status notification function

•  The emergency call unit notifies the user of the emergency call operation status using a notification sound.
•  The notification sound is activated in the pattern shown in the following figure.

On-board diagnostic function

•  The emergency call unit is equipped with an on-board diagnosis function which records DTCs in the event of a malfunction.

•  The emergency call unit is located centrally inside the dashboard.
