Removal Procedure

1.  Using a disc grinder, grind the continuous arc welds in the 5 locations in area A shown in the figure.

Caution

•  If the front side frame flange is damaged when grinding the continuous arc welds in the 5 locations in area A shown in the figure, the integrity of the bumper bracket installation could be compromised. For the 5 locations in area A, look at the grinding locations while performing the work so the front side frame does not get damaged.

2.  Grind the continuous arc welds in the 2 locations in area B shown in the figure.

3.  Drill the spot welds in the 3 locations in area C shown in the figure from the front side frame (inner).

Note

•  When drilling the spot welds in the 3 locations in area C shown in the figure, do not drill through-holes in consideration of the workability when installing.

4.  Drill the spot welds in the 2 locations in area D shown in the figure from the front side frame (inner).

5.  Using a belt sander, grind the arc welds in the 5 locations in area E shown in the figure.

6.  Drill the spot weld in the 1 location in area F shown in the figure from the front side frame (outer).

7.  Remove the bumper bracket.
