Purpose, Function
• The Mazda M Hybrid battery is a high-capacity storage battery which stores energy that can be used when necessary.
Construction, Operation
• The Mazda M Hybrid battery is installed under the floor outside of the cabin at the front of the vehicle.
• The Mazda M Hybrid battery is set with a ground plate to disconnect the battery from the body ground. If the ground plate is removed, a short circuit can be prevented because the 24 V electricity is insulated.
• A monitoring board and sensor are equipped inside the Mazda M Hybrid battery for independent condition monitoring and detection. Conditions are constantly monitored and detected by the voltage sensor, current sensor, and temperature sensor, and input to the PCM via CAN signals.
• If a malfunction occurs, protection control is performed by the PCM or monitoring board to independently open the contactor.
• When scrapping, comply with the specified procedure.
• The Mazda M Hybrid battery has the following inputs/outputs.
