DTC B14F0:92 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE]

id1502c5045300

Outline

System malfunction location

General temporary failure in forward sensing camera (FSC)

Detection condition
•  The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the general temporary failure in forward sensing camera (FSC) for a certain period of time.
•  This occurs due to various external and internal factors.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
•  Windshield dirty
•  Forward sensing camera (FSC) lens is dirty
•  Driving in heavy rain, fog, or snow, or driving towards the sun
•  Driving on roads with no traffic lane lines or faded/patchy traffic lane lines
•  Running vehicle on chassis dynamometer
•  Yaw rate initial setting for vehicle control module (VCM) not implemented or error
•  Forward sensing camera (FSC) malfunction
―  Forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming not performed
―  Forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming adjustment malfunction
―  Forward sensing camera (FSC) optical axis deviation
•  Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM))
Note
•  A DTC may be output due to a temporary characteristic deterioration by driving in an environment with poor visibility.
•  When running the vehicle on a chassis dynamometer even though the vehicle speed is high, DTCs may be detected because the amount of change in the images at the front of the vehicle shot by the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is low.

VERIFY FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) OPERATION RECORD
•  Verify the forward sensing camera (FSC) operation record using the M-MDS.
•  Is there an operation record?
Yes
Explain the conditions to the customer referring to the forward sensing camera (FSC) operation record.
No
Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY WINDSHIELD FOGGING OR SOILING
•  Verify if the windshield is fogged or dirty.
•  Is the windshield fogged or dirty?
Yes
Clear the fogging or remove the dirt from the windshield and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) LENS FOGGING OR SOILING
•  Verify if the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens is fogged or dirty.
•  Is the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens fogged or dirty?
Yes
Clear the fogging or remove the dirt from the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.
8
PERFORM YAW RATE INITIAL SETTING FOR VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM)
•  Perform the yaw rate initial setting for the vehicle control module (VCM) using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition OFF
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 3 min or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
