Detection condition
•  The connectivity master unit (CMU) detects the following conditions for 1 s.
―  Configuration data is not received.
―  Configuration data is not written.
―  Configuration data was reset.
―  Audio amplifier or remote tuner (RT) configuration error signal is received.

•  Inappropriate audio amplifier, remote tuner (RT), or connectivity master unit (CMU) replacement procedure
•  Configuration data of body control module (BCM) and connectivity master unit (CMU) not matched
―  Body control module (BCM) configuration data write error
―  The connectivity master unit (CMU) configuration after replacement is not implemented.
•  Audio amplifier malfunction
•  Remote tuner (RT) malfunction
•  Connectivity master unit (CMU) malfunction

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM) and the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Are any of the following DTCs displayed?
―  Code related to body control module (BCM) communication error, internal malfunction
―  Code related to internal malfunction of connectivity master unit (CMU)
―  Code related to audio amplifier malfunction
―  Code related to remote tuner (RT) malfunction
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(Refer to the [DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)]] in the workshop manual)
No
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY REPLACEMENT RECORD OF EACH MODULE
•  Verify if the following modules have been replaced before performing this troubleshooting procedure.
―  Audio amplifier
―  Remote tuner (RT)
―  Connectivity master unit (CMU)
•  Has any of the modules been replaced?
Yes
After implementing the required servicing according to each procedure when replacing a module, perform the repair completion verification.

(Refer to the [REMOTE TUNER (RT) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual)
(Refer to the [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(Refer to the [CLEARING DTC] in the workshop manual)
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.

VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION RELATED DTCs
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(Refer to the [CLEARING DTC] in the workshop manual)
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is a configuration related DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(Refer to the [DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)]] in the workshop manual)
No
Go to the next step.

RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration.
(Refer to the [CONFIGURATION] in the workshop manual)
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(Refer to the [CLEARING DTC] in the workshop manual)
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the audio amplifier, then go to the next step.
(Refer to the [AUDIO AMPLIFIER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual)
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.

INSPECT REMOTE TUNER (RT) FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(Refer to the [CLEARING DTC] in the workshop manual)
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(Refer to the [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW] in the workshop manual)
If the CAN communication is normal, replace the remote tuner (RT), then go to the next step.
(Refer to the [REMOTE TUNER (RT) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual)
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.

•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(Refer to the [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW] in the workshop manual)
If the CAN communication is normal, replace the connectivity master unit (CMU) and perform the repair completion verification.

No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
(Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION] in the workshop manual)
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(Refer to the [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW] in the workshop manual)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.

Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
