CONNECTING ROD SIDE CLEARANCE INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2]

1. Install the connecting rod bearing and connecting rod cap. (See CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY (II) [MZR-CD 2.2].)

2. Measure the connecting rod large end side clearance.

• If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the piston, piston pin, snap ring and connecting rod.

0.110—0.262 mm {0.0044—0.0103 in}

Connecting rod large end maximum side clearance

0.512 mm {0.0202 in}

3. Remove the connecting rod bearing and connecting rod cap. (See CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY (I) [MZR-CD 2.2].)
