DTC P0088:00

Fuel pressure system too high

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the fuel pressure in the common rail from the fuel pressure sensor while the engine running. If the fuel pressure is more than 217 MPa {2,213 kgf/cm2, 31,473 psi}, the PCM determines that the fuel pressure is too high.
Monitoring condition
•  Battery voltage: 8—20 V
Diagnostic support note
•  The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
•  PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data are available.
•  DTCs are stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Fuel pipe improper connection on fuel tank
•  Fuel leakage or clogged fuel line
•  Suction control valve malfunction
•  Supply pump malfunction
•  Fuel pressure sensor malfunction
•  Fuel pressure limiter malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
