DTC P0069:00

Manifold absolute pressure - barometric pressure correlation

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the MAP sensor signal at PCM terminal 2AD and the barometric pressure at the BARO sensor in the PCM. If the difference in the values between the MAP sensor and BARO sensor exceed the threshold during idling, the PCM determines that there is a correlation error between the manifold absolute pressure and the barometric pressure.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Poor connection of connector or terminals
•  MAP sensor malfunction
•  Blockage at MAP sensor detection area, or foreign matter adhering
•  BARO sensor (built-in PCM) malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
•   Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2
VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related service repair information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.

3
VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE AND/OR DTC
•  Turn the ignition switch to OFF, then to ON (engine off).
•  Perform the Pending Trouble Code Access Procedure and DTC Reading Procedure.
•  Is the other PENDING CODE/DTC also present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
4
INSPECT MAP SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
•  Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
•  Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 7.

Go to the next step.
5
INSPECT MAP SENSOR
•  Reconnect the MAP sensor connector.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Intermittent concern exists.
Go to the Step 7.
6
VERIFY IF CAUSE IS FOREIGN MATTER ADHERING TO MAP SENSOR DETECTION AREA
•  Verify that there is no foreign matter adhering to the MAP sensor detection area.
•  Is foreign matter adhering?
Yes
Remove the foreign matter, then go to the next step.
No
Replace the MAP sensor, then go to the next step.
7
VERIFY THAT DTC P0069:00 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
