Warning
•  Keep all flames away from the battery, otherwise evaporated gas from the battery fluid may catch fire, and cause serious injury.
•  Remove the battery filler caps when recharging to prevent battery deformation or damage.
•  Do not perform battery recharging with the battery in the vehicle as it is dangerous.
Caution
•  Do not perform quick recharging. If quick recharging is performed it could result in an i-stop control malfunction.
•  After recharging, leave the battery as it is for as long as possible (6 hours or longer recommended) to dissipate the polarization in the battery.
•  When using a constant charge battery recharger, the voltmeter may reach the inhibition area depending on the type of the recharger, however, this does not indicate a problem because the current is controlled by the amount of flowing current.
•  Always recharge the battery for the specified time to improve sulfuration. When recharging the battery, a large amount of air bubbles are produced from the battery, however, the electrodes are not damaged.

1.  Remove the battery and then place it in a pan of water.

2.  Remove the battery filler caps.

3.  To prevent loss of battery fluid during recharging, verify the battery fluid level.

Battery fluid level is halfway between UPPER and LOWER levels or less
•  Add distilled water to the upper level.
Battery fluid level is halfway between UPPER and LOWER levels or more
•  Go to the next step.

4.  Connect a battery recharger to the battery and adjust the charging current as follows.

Main battery recharge procedure
1.  Set the recharge current to 7 A and apply a constant current charge so that the recharge current does not exceed 10 A. For the recharge time, perform the servicing referring to table 1.

Sub battery recharge procedure
1.  Set the recharge current to 4 A and apply a constant current charge so that the recharge current does not exceed 5 A. For the recharge time, perform the servicing referring to table 2.

No constant current recharger device available
1.  Adjust the voltage so that the recharge current is 10 to 15 A.
Verify the current after 30 s have elapsed since the measurement was started because the current is not stabilized after the voltage adjustment.
2.  Set the voltage again so that the current becomes the following one time after 60 min have elapsed from starting the battery recharge.
•  Main battery: 7A (Set so that it does not exceed 10 A)
•  Sub battery: 4A (Set so that it does not exceed 5 A)
