Using M-MDS

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC‐2.

2.  After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

•  When using the IDS (laptop PC)

1.  Select the “Powertrain”.

2.  Select the “Engine Checks”.

•  When using the PDS (Pocket PC)

1.  Select the “All Tests and Calibrations”.

3.  Then, select items from the screen menu in the following order.

1.  Select “Learning”.

2.  Select “Injection Amount Correction”.

4.  Retrieve DTC’s using the M-MDS, then verify if DTCs are present.

•  If a DTC is present, perform the applicable DTC inspection.

Note

•  If there is an error in the fuel injection amount learning, use the following PIDs to verify the cause of the error.

•  If there are several errors in the fuel injection amount learning, the additional display codes are indicated.

	16384	Diesel particulate filter regeneration cooling is operated
	32768	Diesel particulate filter functional check is operated
INJ_LRN_F2	1	Engine is rough idling.
	2	Air conditioner is operated.
	4	Freezer idle up is operated.
	8	Blower fan is operated.
	16	Air conditioner switch is on.
	32	Air conditioner frequency is more.
	64	Parts of something is trouble.
	128	Engine is not running.
	256	Temperature conditions are failures.
	512	Learning time is over.

Without using M-MDS

1.  Start the engine.

2.  Repeatedly ground the test terminal 5 times within 5 seconds using a jumper wire.

―  If the glow indicator light does not illuminate, return to procedure 2.

•  When the fuel injector injection amount correction is completed, the glow indicator light flashes 5 times.
