Normal Driving Cooling Control

•  Controls the PCM output duty ratio according to the engine coolant temperature.
•  The control temperature while the engine coolant temperature is decreasing is controlled differently than when it is increasing.

When the A/C Signal is ON

•  Controls the PCM output duty ratio depending on the refrigerant pressure and vehicle speed when the A/C switch is on.

After Cooling Control

•  If the ignition is switched off within 5 min after driving for 8 min continuously in either of the following driving modes, the cooling fan operates for 8 min at the output duty ratio of 30%.
Type A
―  Charging efficiency: 0.55 or more
―  Vehicle speed: 30 km/h {19 mph} or more
―  IAT: 35°C {95 °F} or more
Type B
―  Charging efficiency: 0.65 or more
―  Vehicle sped: 80 km/h {50 mph} or moer
―  IAT: 30°C {86 °F} or moer

During Test Mode

•  Turn on the test mode using the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS), and with the accelerator pedal depressed, the PCM fixes the control duty ratio at the 50%.

Fail-safe

•  If the engine coolant temperature sensor is damaged, the PCM fixes the control duty ratio at the maximum value.
