M range indicator light constantly illuminated

DESCRIPTION

•  M range indicator light illuminates in range other than M.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  M range switch malfunction (Stuck ON)

•  Short to ground in wiring harness between M range switch and TCM terminal B9

The following conditions may occur when the above malfunction occurs:

•  M range indicator light always illuminates in D range.

•  Gear position digit displays in a range other than M.

•  Shifts when the up-switch or down-switch is operated.
