•  The TCM releases the forward clutch if the following conditions are met and shifts the CVT to neutral. As a result, engine load is reduced, and fuel economy is improved by reducing drag loss in the torque converter.
―  Vehicle stopped on flat road
―  When brake pedal is depressed
•  If the brake pedal is released during neutral control, the forward clutch is re-engaged, the normal CVT forward drive conditions are enabled, and creep force occurs.
•  The TCM detects the amount of vehicle inclination using the inclination sensor and does not implement neutral control if it determines that the vehicle is on an ascending or descending road.
