D-range shift function

•  Verify that the shifting operation is correct during normal driving (general city driving).

•  Verify that the vehicle speed increases to 80 km/h {50 mph} with no increase in the engine speed to over-rev engine speed.

Manual mode switching operation

•  Verify that the selector lever shifts correctly from M-range to manual mode when operated.

i.  Vehicle speed decreases without the accelerator pedal depressed.

ii.  When the vehicle speed decreases to 40 km/h {25 mph}, shift the selector lever to the M-range and perform shift-down operation.

iii.  Verify that the engine speed increases from approx. 1,200 rpm to approx. 3,000 rpm.

Engine braking operation

•  Inspect the engine braking operation during deceleration in manual mode.

i.  Put the selector lever in M-range and perform shift-down operation.

ii.  Decelerate without depressing the accelerator pedal.

iii.  When the vehicle speed decreases to 40 km/h {25 mph}, verify that the engine speed is at 3,000 rpm.

Kicks down function

•  Verify that the vehicle kicks down correctly.

i.  Perform kick-down while the vehicle is traveling at a speed of 60 km/h {37 mph}.

ii.  Verify that the engine speed increases from approx. 4,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm.

P-position operation

•  After shifting the selector lever to the P position while the vehicle is parked on a gentle slope, release the brakes and verify that the vehicle does not move.

Abnormal noise, vibration

•  Inspect for abnormal noise and vibration while the vehicle is driven and during shifting.
