HEATED WINDSHIELD FUNCTION OPERATION
id091200530200
Vehicles With Full-Auto Air Conditioner System
• When the heated windshield switch or the defroster switch is on while the engine is running, the climate control unit turns on the heated windshield relay to operate the heated windshield.
• The climate control unit operates a beep sound when the heated windshield is turned on or off to inform the driver of the heated windshield operation condition.
• When approx. 4 to 7 min have elapsed since the heated windshield started operation, the timer control of the climate control unit turns off the heated windshield relay to stop the heated windshield operation.
• The length of the heated windshield operation time varies depending on the ambient temperature.
-
Note
-
• If there is an error in the ambient temperature signal, control is performed as if the ambient temperature is -10 °C {14 °F}.
• The climate control unit determines the engine operation conditions based on the engine speed signal input from the PCM via CAN communication.
-
Note
-
• Operation of the heated windshield is stopped if 5 s have elapsed with the voltage at climate control unit terminal 2H (IG2) at 10 V or less.
• On vehicles with the PTC heater, PTC heater operation is stopped during the heated windshield operation. (MZR-CD 2.2)
Vehicles With Manual Air Conditioner System
• When the heated windshield switch is on or the mode dial is turned to the defroster position while the engine is running, the climate control unit turns on the heated windshield relay to operate the heated windshield.
• When approx. 7 min have elapsed since the heated windshield started operation, the timer control of the climate control unit turns off the heated windshield relay to stop the heated windshield operation.
-
Note
-
• Operation of the heated windshield is stopped if 5 s have elapsed with the voltage at climate control unit terminal 2H (IG2) at 10 V or less.
