Upper Cylinder Head Cover
• The upper cylinder head cover, made of hard plastic, incorporates the crankcase breather valve and oil filler cap.
• The seal between the valve cover and the upper part of the cylinder head is provided by means of a separate rubber gasket.

Lower Cylinder Head Cover
• The camshafts are inserted into the upper part of the cylinder head and secured by means of the camshaft bearing caps. The upper part of the cylinder head is placed on the lower part of the cylinder head and then bolted down.
• The chain tensioner is secured to the housing of the upper part of the cylinder head by two retaining bolts, and is connected to the oil circuit of the engine via an oil duct (8) on the sealing face of the upper part of the cylinder head.
• Oil supply to the camshafts is also provided via an oil duct (5) located on the sealing face of the upper part of the cylinder head.
• The ducts for the intake manifold and EGR system, and the mountings for the injectors are housed in the upper part of the cylinder head.
