High Power-Euro 4
• The diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor calculates, via a pipe, the current pressures in the exhaust gas flow in the front and back of the diesel particulate filter. The diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor converts the measurements into a voltage signal and send it to the PCM.
• The soot particles collected in the diesel particulate filter and the ash cause a pressure change in the exhaust gas flow in the front and back of the diesel particulate filter. The changing pressure caused by the volume of soot is used by the PCM as an input variable for determining the volume of soot.
• If the measured value exceeds the stored maximum value, and taking into account the necessary boundary conditions, regeneration of the diesel particulate filter begins.
• In addition the diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor is used mainly for DTC diagnosis.
