•  The PCM calculates the target fuel pressure based on the engine speed and fuel injection amount.

•  The PCM operates the suction control valve which is installed to the supply pump to adjust the fuel pressure in the common rail to the target fuel pressure.

•  By controlling the amount of pumped fuel from the supply pump with the suction control valve, the fuel pressure in the common rail is controlled and a constant, optimum injection pressure has been realized.
