CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER[J65M-R]
id0510001004a2
STRUCTURE
• The clutch release cylinder is secured to the housing-half clutch end with three bolts. The clutch release collar is incorporated in the release cylinder and cannot be replaced as an individual part.
OPERATION
• Pressure in the clutch release cylinder moves the piston axially. Due to this, the clutch release collar presses against the diaphragm springs of the clutch cover and breaks the frictional connection between the clutch disc and the flywheel.
• The compression spring applies a preload of 100 N to the clutch release collar when the clutch is not operated. The preload ensures that the clutch release collar always bears on the clutch and rotates with it. The wear of the clutch disc is offset by the preload.
