•  The accumulator stabilizes the vaporized refrigerant and supplies it to the A/C compressor.

•  The accumulator stores the refrigerant temporarily and extracts the vaporized refrigerant. Thus, it prevents refrigerant that cannot be completely vaporized from flowing out to the A/C compressor.

•  Desiccant inside the accumulator is used to remove moisture from the refrigerant.

•  An oil return orifice is located at the bottom of the accumulator to return the compressor oil which accumulates there to the A/C compressor. Additionally, a filter located in front of the orifice removes foreign material inside the refrigerant cycle.
