Operation

Before activation (Normal condition)

•  There are balls in the tube which don’t touch the pinion.

•  The pinion is connected with the spindle and rotates with the spindle as a single unit.

During activation

1.  The generated gas enters the tube, and its pressure pushes the balls.

2.  Each ball moves in the tube, geared with the pinion, and makes the pinion rotate.

3.  The spindle rotates coupled with the rotation of the pinion and winds up the webbing.

After activation

1.  The generated gas is exhausted and ball movement stops.

2.  Several balls that have passed the pinion get into the ball trap.
