•  There are two intake ports and two exhaust ports for each cylinder. There are a total of 16 valves directly driven by two camshafts.

•  A variable valve timing mechanism has been adopted that insures the best valve timing depending on the driving conditions by constantly changing the phase of the intake port side camshaft. (See:VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MECHANISM OUTLINE [MZR 1.6].)
