Purpose, Function

• The electric water pump adjusts the cooling performance of the charge air cooler.

• The electric water pump is located underneath the intake manifold.

Operation

• The electric water pump is driven by the control signal sent from the PCM to maintain an appropriate intake air temperature.

•  Restricts the upper limit of the engine speed.

•  Inhibits the EGR control.

•  Inhibits the auto diesel particulate filter regeneration control.

•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
