Purpose, Function

•  The starter interlock switch mechanism prevents vehicle surge when the engine is started, enhancing safety. The engine cannot be started unless the clutch is depressed.

Construction

•  The starter interlock switch is located on the clutch pedal.

Operation

•  The starter interlock switch rod is pressed by the depression of the clutch pedal. At this time, the starter interlock switch is turned on, and by establishing a circuit, engine starting (from starter) permission is transmitted to the PCM and start stop unit.
