A/F sensor

•  The PCM operates the A/F sensor heater when the following conditions are met.

Activation condition

Engine operation conditions

•  After the engine has started and a fixed period of time has elapsed (the elapsed time period after the engine starts is determined by exhaust gas temperature)
•  Battery positive voltage is 9 V or more and less than 16 V
•  The PCM outputs a duty signal
•  The element temperature is measured by the impedance of the A/F sensor heater and a duty ratio is determined

HO2S heater

•  The PCM operates the HO2S heater based on the following control conditions.

Output duty ratio

Control condition

0%
•  Engine stopped
•  Fuel cut injection control is in engine start zone
•  Engine coolant temperature is −10 °C {14 °F} or less
•  Other than battery voltage of 9—16 V
•  Within a fixed period of time after engine start (varies according to engine coolant temperature)
14.4―32.4%
•  HO2S not activated
0―100%
(Determined by engine speed and charging efficiency)
•  Other than the above
