Is the mechanical system normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

Switch the ignition to ON.
When selector lever is moved, does the selector illumination indicate synchronized position to lever location?
Also, when other positions are selected from N or P during idling, does vehicle moves within 1—2 s?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Inspect the selector lever and TR switch.
(See SELECTOR LEVER INSPECTION.)
If the selector lever and/or TR switch have a malfunction:
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
If the selector lever and TR switch are normal:
• Go to the next step.

Inspect the ATF color and condition.
Are the ATF color and odor normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
Flush the ATX and cooler line if necessary.

Perform the line pressure test.
Is the line pressure normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

Perform the stall test.
Is the stall speed normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

Inspect the following PID values using the M-MDS:
(See PCM INSPECTION [MZR 1.6].)
• APP
• DWN SW
• ECT
• MNL SW
• OSS
• RPM
• TFT
• TFTV
• TR
• TR_SENS
• TSS
• UP SW
• VPWR
• VSS
Are the PID values normal?

Yes
|
Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.

No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
