FLYWHEEL INSPECTION [F35M-R]

1. Remove the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [F35M-R].)
2. Perform the following procedure to inspect the flywheel.
- (1) Inspect the surface that contacts the clutch disc for scratches, nicks, and discoloration.

• Correct slight scratches and discoloration using sandpaper.
- (2) Inspect the ring gear teeth for damage and wear.

- (3) Measure the flatness of the flywheel with a straight edge and a feeler gauge.

Maximum clearance of flatness of the flywheel

0.06 mm {0.002 in}

- (4) Inspect the runout of the surface that contacts the clutch disc.

- 1) Install the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [F35M-R].)
- 2) Measure the runout of the surface that contacts the clutch disc using a dial gauge.
