•  The powertrain mechanism consists of three pairs of clutches, band brake, brake, one-way clutch, and two pairs of single type planetary gears.

Component

Function

Clutch
Forward clutch
C1
•  Transmits the input torque from the turbine shaft to the front sun gear.
3-4 clutch
C2
•  Transmits the input torque from the turbine shaft to the rear planetary carrier.
Reverse clutch
C3
•  Transmits the input torque from the turbine shaft to the rear sun gear.
Band brake
2-4 brake band
B1
•  Locks rotation of the reverse drum and fixes the rear sun gear.
Brake
Low and reverse brake
B2
•  Fixes the rotation of the front internal gear.
One-way clutch
One-way clutch
OWC
•  Locks the counterclockwise rotation of the front internal gear.
(Directions of rotation is viewed from the torque converter.)
Single type planetary gear
Front planetary gear
•  Converts the transmitted driving force of the turbine shaft and transmits it to the primary gear.
Rear planetary gear
•  Converts the transmitted driving force of the turbine shaft and transmits it to the primary gear.
