BLOWER SYSTEM

id071100001200

Outline

•  The blower system intakes air from inside or outside of the vehicle, and sends it to the A/C unit passing through the air filter.

Function

•  The blower system sends air to the A/C unit by the blower motor.
•  The air intake of the blower system is either FRESH or RECIRCULATE depending on the position of the air intake door.

Structural View

•  The blower system consists of the following parts.

Operation

Full-auto air conditioner, manual air conditioner (7-speed type airflow volume control dial)

1.  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the front body control module (FBCM) turns the blower relay on (1).

Note
•  The front body control module (FBCM) may stop the air conditioner system forcibly after turning the blower relay off due to the battery discharge suppression function.

2.  When the blower relay turns on, the blower fan controller goes on operation standby (2).

3.  When the climate control unit receives the blower relay ON signal (3), it performs the airflow volume control (4) and sends a blower speed signal (5) to the blower fan controller.

4.  The blower fan control driver circuit determines the duty value (6) to rotate the blower motor based on the blower speed signal and turns the power MOS FET on or off (7).

5.  When the power MOS FET is turned on, the blower motor circuit is established (8) and the blower motor rotates (9).

6.  The power MOS FET repeatedly turns on or off at high speed to control the blower motor and the rotation speed.

7.  When the blower motor rotates, airflow is sent to the A/C unit. In addition, the air intake door is either at FRESH or RECIRCULATE depending on the air intake door position.

2.  When the blower relay turns on, the blower motor goes on operation standby (2).

3.  When the climate control unit receives the blower relay ON signal (3) and the fan switch speed is switched to 1 (5) by the operation of the airflow volume control (4) of the climate control unit, a fan switch circuit is established (6) and the blower motor rotates (7).

4.  The resister (8) internal resistance decreases as the voltage applied to the blower motor by the fan switch increases in speed to 2, 3, and 4. Therefore, the blower motor rotation speed increases.
