UPPER PANEL REMOVAL

Without Electric Parking Brake

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Open the console lid.

3.  Remove the button, then open the fastener.

4.  Pull the upper panel in the order of the arrows (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the figure and remove it while detaching the clips A, hooks, and clips B.

5.  Disconnect the commander switch connector (with commander switch).

Note

•  When replacing the upper panel, remove the commander switch (with commander switch). (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

With Electric Parking Brake

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Open the console lid.

3.  Open the shutter and remove the cushion sheet.

4.  Remove the screw.

5.  Pull the upper panel in the order of the arrows (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the figure and remove it while detaching the clips A, hooks, and clips B.

6.  Disconnect the electric parking brake switch connector.

7.  Disconnect the commander switch connector.

Note

•  When replacing the upper panel, remove the following parts:

―  Electric parking brake switch (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

―  Commander switch (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
