Without Electric Parking Brake

Note
•  When the clips B are removed at the front of the upper panel, the clips for the rear of the shift panel may be disengaged.
•  When installing the new upper panel, first install the commander switch to the upper panel (with commander switch). (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

1.  Verify that the clips on the end of the shift panel are disengaged from the front console.

Caution
•  If the upper panel is installed with the upper panel hooks not inserted into the grooves of the console, the hooks could come out or be bent inward and damaged. Verify that the hooks are inserted into the grooves and then install.

2.  Connect the commander switch connector (with commander switch).

3.  Press the upper panel in the order of the arrows (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the figure, and install the hooks, clips A and clips B.

4.  Fasten the fastener and button.

5.  Close the console lid.

6.  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) With Electric Parking Brake

Note
•  When installing the new upper panel, first install the following parts to the upper panel:
―  Electric parking brake switch (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
―  Commander switch (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

1.  Connect the commander switch connector.

2.  Connect the electric parking brake switch connector.

3.  Press the upper panel in the order of the arrows (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the figure, and install the hooks, clips A and clips B.

4.  Install the screw.

5.  Install the cushion sheet and close the shutter.

6.  Close the console lid.
