AUTO LIGHT SYSTEM

id091800010500

Outline

•  The auto light system automatically turns the TNS (parking lights), headlight, and panel light on/off according to the illumination level above and in front of the vehicle.

Function

•  The front body control module (FBCM) turns each light on/off based on the signal from the auto light sensor.

Operation

Note
•  When the ignition is switched ON (engine on or off), the auto light sensor detects the illumination level above and in front of the vehicle regardless of the light switch position.
•  The auto light system operates when the ignition is switched ON (engine on or off) and the light switch is in the AUTO position.
•  The following illumination level is a reference. The illumination level varies depending on the surrounding conditions (weather, reflection off buildings).
•  The illumination level sensitivity of the auto light sensor can be changed. The illumination level in the explanation for the following operations is the value when setting to [Medium]. (See LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION.)

Panel light on operation

1.  When the light switch is moved to the AUTO position with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the start stop unit detects (1) an auto light signal.

2.  The start stop unit sends (2) the auto light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

3.  When the auto light sensor detects (3) the average 700 lux or less per 1 min for upward illumination, it sends (4) a panel light illumination request signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via LIN communication.

4.  When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the auto light signal and panel light illumination request signal, it turns the panel light on (5).

Panel light off operation

1.  When the light switch is moved to the AUTO position with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the start stop unit detects (1) an auto light signal.

2.  The start stop unit sends (2) the auto light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

3.  When the auto light sensor detects (3) the average 1,400 lux or more per 1 min for upward illumination, it sends (4) a panel light off request signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via LIN communication.

4.  When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the auto light signal and panel light off request signal, it turns the panel light off (5).

Headlight LO on operation

1.  When the light switch is moved to the AUTO position with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the start stop unit detects (1) an auto light signal.

2.  The start stop unit sends (2) the auto light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

3.  When the auto light sensor detects (3) the average 2,000 lux or less per 1 min for upward illumination, it sends (4) a TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO illumination request signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via LIN communication.

4.  When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the auto light signal and TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO illumination request signal, it turns the TNS (parking lights) and headlights LO on (5).

Headlight off operation

1.  When the light switch is moved to the AUTO position with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the start stop unit detects (1) an auto light signal.

2.  The start stop unit sends (2) the auto light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

3.  When the auto light sensor detects (3) the average 4,000 lux or more per 1 min for upward illumination, it sends (4) a TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO off request signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via LIN communication.

4.  When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the auto light signal and TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO off request signal, it turns the TNS (parking lights) and headlights LO off (5).
