TRUNK LID LIGHT (4SD)/LIFTGATE LIGHT (5HB)
id091800903200
Purpose
Trunk lid light (4SD)
-
• The trunk lid lights are used to signal the following conditions to vehicles/people at the rear.
-
― Back-up lights: Signals that the vehicle is backing up.
― Taillights: Signals the presence of the vehicle during nighttime. (with taillight)
Liftgate light (5HB)
-
• The liftgate lights are used to signal the following conditions to vehicles/people at the rear.
-
― Back-up lights: Signals that the vehicle is backing up.
― Taillights: Signals the presence of the vehicle during nighttime. (with taillight)
― Rear fog light: The vehicle's presence is signaled to vehicles at the rear by the illumination of the rear fog light during poor weather conditions such as dense fog. (with rear fog light)
Function
Trunk lid light (4SD)
-
• The back-up lights are illuminated in conjunction with the selector lever (ATX)/shift lever (MTX) operation.
• The taillights are illuminated in conjunction with the light switch operation (TNS (parking lights)). (with taillights)
Liftgate light (5HB)
-
• The back-up lights are illuminated in conjunction with the selector lever (ATX)/shift lever (MTX) operation.
• The taillights are illuminated in conjunction with the light switch operation (TNS (parking lights)). (with taillights)
• When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives a rear fog light on request signal sent via CAN communication from the front body control module (FBCM), it turns the rear fog light on. (with rear fog light)
Construction
Trunk lid light (4SD)
-
• The back-up light bulb is an integrated structure.
• The trunk lid light is integrated with the taillight (LED). (with taillight)
-
Note
-
• Fogging or condensation may occur inside the trunk lid lights, however, it is a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the trunk lid lights and has no effect on the light performance. Fogging or condensation will dissipate when the temperature inside the trunk lid lights rises after the back-up light is illuminated and a period of time has elapsed.
Liftgate light (5HB)
-
• The following parts are an integrated structure.
-
― Back-up light bulb
― Rear fog light bulb (with rear fog light)
• The liftgate light is integrated with the taillight (LED). (with taillight)
-
Note
-
• Fogging or condensation may occur inside the liftgate lights, however, it is a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the liftgate lights and has no effect on the light performance. Fogging or condensation will dissipate when the temperature inside the liftgate lights rises after the back-up light is illuminated and a period of time has elapsed.
Operation
Taillights (with taillight)
1. When the light switch is operated to the TNS (parking lights) position, the start stop unit detects a TNS (parking lights) signal.
2. The start stop unit sends the TNS (parking lights) signal to the front body control module (FBCM) as a CAN signal.
3. When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the TNS (parking lights) signal, it turns the TNS relay on.
4. When the TNS relay turns on, the taillights are illuminated.
Buck-up lights
-
ATX
-
1. When the selector lever is operated to the R position, the TCM sends a R position signal to the PCM as a CAN signal.
2. When the PCM receives the R position signal, it sends a back-up light on signal to the instrument cluster.
3. The instrument cluster sends the back-up light on signal to the rear body control module (RBCM).
4. When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives the back-up light on signal, the back-up lights are illuminated.
-
MTX
-
1. When the shift lever is operated to the reverse position, the back-up light switch is turned on.
2. When the back-up light switch is turned on, the PCM detects a back-up light switch on signal.
3. When the PCM detects a back-up light switch on signal, it sends the back-up light on signal to the instrument cluster as a CAN signal.
4. The instrument cluster sends the back-up light on signal to the rear body control module (RBCM).
5. When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives the back-up light on signal, the back-up lights are illuminated.
