Operation

AM radio/FM radio/RDS (radio data system)

1.  If the radio mode is selected when the ignition is switched to ACC or ON (engine off), the audio unit supplies power to the AM/FM antenna amplifier (4SD)/amplifier (5HB) in the center roof antenna.
2.  The audio unit detects the radio broadcast selected by the user using the radio tuner in the audio unit based on the electrical signal sent from the AM/FM antenna amplifier (4SD)/center roof antenna (5HB). The audio signal from the detected radio broadcast is sent to the speakers, and the image signal of the detected radio broadcast is sent to the display of the audio unit.
3.  The speakers output the audio based on the audio signal sent from the audio unit. The display of the audio unit displays the radio information based on the image signal.

AUX/USB audio (AUX)

1.  When the plug of a portable audio unit is connected to the auxiliary jack/USB port, the auxiliary jack/USB port sends an analog signal (audio signal) from the portable audio device to the audio unit.
2.  The audio unit sends the audio signal received from the auxiliary jack/USB port to the speakers.
3.  The speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal.

AUX/USB audio (USB)

1.  When the USB media such as a USB device/iPod is connected to the USB port of the auxiliary jack/USB port, the auxiliary jack/USB port sends the digital data (audio signal/text data signal) of the USB media to the audio unit.
2.  The audio unit sends the audio signal received from the auxiliary jack/USB port to the speakers.
3.  The speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal.

CD playback (with CD player)

1.  With a CD inserted in the CD player and the CD mode selected, the audio unit sends a control signal to the CD player.
2.  The CD player emits laser light to the inserted CD when the control signal is received. The reflected light is detected by the light sensor and the data recorded in the CD is converted from a digital signal to an electric signal.
3.  The CD player converts the electric signal to an audio signal and video signal using the electrical circuit in the CD player. The converted audio and video signals are sent to the audio unit.
4.  The audio unit sends the audio signal received from the CD player to the speakers. In addition, the CD information based on the text data signal is displayed in the display.
5.  The speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal.

Bluetooth® audio (with Bluetooth® unit)

1.  The Bluetooth® unit sends the digital data received from the Bluetooth® enabled device to the audio unit.
2.  The audio unit sends the audio signal of the digital data to the speakers, and the text data signal signal to the display of the audio unit.
3.  The speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal, and the audio unit display displays the Bluetooth® audio information based on the video signal.
4.  When the audio panel is operated, the audio unit sends the operation information to the Bluetooth® unit.
5.  The Bluetooth® unit sends an operation signal to a Bluetooth® enabled device such as a Smartphone.

Hands-free telephone (HF/TEL) function (incoming call)

1.  When an incoming call is received, a mobile device such as a Smartphone/Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone sends the incoming call signal to the Bluetooth® unit.
2.  The Bluetooth® unit sends the incoming call signal to the audio unit when it receives the incoming call signal.
3.  The audio unit switches the tuner inside the unit to HF/TEL mode when it receives the incoming call signal. In addition, the incoming call number is displayed in the display of the audio unit.
4.  If the TALK button on the steering switch is pressed while the incoming call number is displayed, the Bluetooth® unit detects the steering switch operation.
5.  The Bluetooth® unit sends a call answer signal to a mobile device such as a Smartphone/Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone when the steering switch operation is detected, and the call is initiated.
6.  The mobile device, such as a Smartphone/Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone, sends a receive audio signal to the Bluetooth® unit, which is output from the speakers via the audio unit.
7.  The voice recognition-use microphone sends the send audio signal to the Bluetooth® unit.
8.  The Bluetooth® unit sends the signal to a mobile device such as a Smartphone/Bluetooth® enabled mobile telephone.

Hands-free telephone (HF/TEL) function (outgoing call)
1.  When the TALK button on the steering switch is pressed, the Bluetooth® unit detects the steering switch operation.
2.  When the steering switch operation is detected, the Bluetooth® unit sends a steering switch operation signal to the audio unit.
3.  When the steering switch operation signal is received, the audio unit sends a guidance audio signal to the speakers, and the speakers output the guidance audio.
4.  The voice recognition microphone converts the words (voice commands) produced by the user after the guidance audio output to an audio signal and sends it to the Bluetooth® unit.
5.  The Bluetooth® unit sends the voice signal to a mobile device such as a Smartphone or Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone when the audio signal from the voice recognition microphone is received, and the call is initiated.
6.  The mobile device, such as a Smartphone or Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone, sends the received audio signal to the Bluetooth® unit, and the signal is output from the speakers via the audio unit.
7.  The voice recognition microphone sends the send audio signal of the user to the Bluetooth® unit, and the Bluetooth® unit sends the received send audio signal to a mobile device such as Smartphone or Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone.

Bluetooth® pairing

1.  When the audio unit panel button is operated and [PAIR DEVICE] is selected, "PIN 0000" is displayed after "ENTER PIN" is displayed for approx. 3 s in the display of the audio unit.
2.  If the audio unit panel button is operated while "PIN 0000" is displayed and a pair code (optional 4-digit number) is input, the audio unit sends a control signal to the Bluetooth® unit. Additionally, "PAIRING" flashes in the display of the audio unit.
3.  The Bluetooth® unit sends a search signal to a Bluetooth® enabled device near the Bluetooth® unit.
4.  If a Bluetooth®-enabled device receives a search signal, the Bluetooth® unit is displayed on the Bluetooth® setting screen.
5.  If a Bluetooth®-enabled device is operated, the Bluetooth® unit is selected, and a pairing code is input, the Bluetooth®-enabled device sends the input pairing code to the Bluetooth® unit.
6.  When the Bluetooth® unit receives the pairing code, it stores the Bluetooth® enabled device information and sends a notification control signal indicating pairing completion with the audio unit.
7.  When the audio unit receives the control signal, it displays "Musical note symbol" and "PAIR SUCCESS" in the display for approx. 3 s, and the pairing is completed.
Note
•  If 7 Bluetooth® devices (maximum) have been programmed, "MEMORY FULL" is indicated in the audio unit display, and Bluetooth® pairing is canceled.
•  If the pairing programming fails, "Err" flashes in the audio unit display for approx. 3 s and the screen returns to the [PAIR DEVICE] screen.
