Purpose, Function
• The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub outputs the audio signal from an on-market, portable audio or USB device, connected to the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub, and the map information of the SD card to the connectivity master unit (CMU).

Construction
• The auxiliary jack, USB port and SD card slot are built into the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub.
Without CD player or DVD/CD player
• The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub is installed to the front console.
With CD player or DVD/CD player
• The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub is installed to the rear console.
Operation
Auxiliary jack

1. When the AUX mode is selected by operating the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal to the tuner and amp unit (TAU).
2. The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub sends the audio signal sent from the portable audio device connected to the auxiliary jack.
3. The TAU sends the received audio signal to the speakers and the speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal.
USB port

1. When the USB mode is selected by operating the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal to the TAU.
2. The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub sends the digital data (audio signal/music information such as album name or artist name) of the USB device/iPod connected to the USB port to the CMU.
3. The CMU transmits the received audio signal to the TAU, converts the music information to a LVDS signal, and displays the signal in the center display.
4. The TAU sends the received audio signal to the speakers and the speakers output the audio based on the received audio signal.
SD card slot

• The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub can only read map information on the SD card (genuine Mazda). Music and image information stored on an SD card (genuine Mazda) and the information stored on an SD card other than a genuine Mazda SD card cannot be read.

1. When the navigation mode is selected by operating the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal to the TAU.
2. The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub sends the map information of the SD card inserted into the SD card slot to the CMU.
3. The CMU converts the video signal to a LVDS signal based on the received map information, and displays the signal in the center display.
