DRIVE BELT AUTO TENSIONER INSPECTION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]

MZR 2.0

1.  Remove the generator drive belt with the A/C drive belt still installed and set it out of the way. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

2.  Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner moves smoothly in the operational direction.

•  If it does not move smoothly, replace the drive belt auto tensioner. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

3.  Turn the drive belt auto tensioner pulley by hand and verify that it rotates smoothly.

•  If it does not move smoothly, replace the drive belt auto tensioner. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

4.  Install the generator drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

2.  Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner moves smoothly in the operational direction.

•  Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

3.  Rotate the drive belt auto tensioner pulley by hand and verify that it rotates smoothly.

•  Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

4.  Install the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)
