INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM INSPECTION [MZR 1.5, MZR 1.6]

1.  Remove the fresh-air duct and the air cleaner case as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.5, MZR 1.6].)

2.  Disconnect the evaporative hose connecting the intake manifold and the purge solenoid valve (purge solenoid valve side) and install the vacuum gauge.

3.  Install the fresh-air duct and the air cleaner case as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.5, MZR 1.6].)

4.   Verify that the intake air hoses are installed securely.

5.  Warm up the engine.

6.  Measure the intake manifold vacuum while idling (no load) using the vacuum gauge.

•  If not within the specification, perform the following inspections.
―  Compression pressure (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION [MZR 1.5, MZR 1.6].)
―  Air suction
•  Installation areas of each vacuum hose
•  Installation area of throttle body
•  Installation area of fuel injector
•  Installation area of PCV valve
•  Installation area of intake manifold

MZR 1.5: Approx. -63.0 kPa {-473 mmHg, -18.6 inHg}
MZR 1.6 (AT): Approx. -73.8 kPa {-554 mmHg, -21.8 inHg}
MZR 1.6 (MT): Approx. -72.6 kPa {-545 mmHg, -21.4 inHg}
