Resistance Inspection

Warning
•  When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.

1.  Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

3.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

4.  Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

5.  Remove the air cleaner. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

6.  Remove the air duct. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

7.  Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.

8.  Remove the ECT sensor. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

9.  Place the ECT sensor in water with a thermometer, and heat the water gradually.

10.  Measure the resistance between ECT sensor terminals A and B.
