BOOST SENSOR INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2]

Note
•  Perform the following test only when directed.

Visual Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

2.  Remove the boost sensor. (See COMMON RAIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

3.  Visually inspect the boost sensor for the following:

•  Damage, cracks, soiling
•  Rusted sensor terminal
•  Bent sensor terminal
―  If the boost sensor is normal, then go to the next step.
―  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the boost sensor. (See COMMON RAIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

4.  Inspect the vacuum hose for improper routing, kinks or leakage.

•  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace suspected hose.


Sensor Output Value Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start the engine and warm up the engine completely.

3.  Verify that the boost sensor output voltage (PID: MAP) is within the specification at idle. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].)
