EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2]

id0140f2807600

Note
•  Perform the following test only when directed.

Voltage Inspection

Note
•  Because the EGR valve position sensor is integrated in the EGR valve, replacing the EGR valve position sensor includes replacement of the EGR valve.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition to ON.

3.  Verify that the EGR valve output voltage (PID: EGRP) is within the specification. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].)

Specification
0.81.0 V
•  If as specified, go to the next step.
•  If not as specified, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

4.  Start the engine and warm up the engine completely.

5.  Command the EGRP PID from 0 to 100 % using the active command modes function. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].)

6.  Verify that the EGRP PID reading change according to the EGRP commanded value.

―  If not as specified, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
