Caution
•  If the nut for the current sensor is loosened with the negative battery cable terminal connected to the battery, excessive torque will be applied to the negative battery cable terminal and the battery terminal will be damaged. When removing the negative battery cable terminal and current sensor, be careful not to damage the battery terminal.
•  Be careful not to contact the positive battery cable terminal.

Current Sensor Removal

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

2.  Disconnect the current sensor connector.

3.  Loosen the current sensor nut while fixing the negative battery terminal using a wrench.

Current Sensor Install

Caution
•  Connect the negative battery cable before connecting the current sensor connector. If the current sensor connector is connected first, the PCM may mistakenly recognize a signal from the current sensor and learn the battery condition incorrectly.

1.  Temporarily install the negative battery cable and the current sensor.

2.  Tighten the current sensor nut to the specified torque while fixing the negative battery terminal using a wrench.

Tightening torque
10—17 N·m {102—173 kgf·cm, 89—150 in·lbf}

3.  Perform battery condition initial setting (i-stop setting). (Vehicle with i-stop) (See BATTERY CONDITION INITIALIZATION LEARNING (i-stop LEARNING) [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

Note
•  Connection of the negative battery cable terminal and the current sensor connector will be done in the battery condition initial setting (i-stop setting) procedure. (Vehicle with i-stop)

4.  Perform services not related to i-stop control which are required after connecting the negative battery cable terminal. (Vehicle with i-stop) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
