18	No engine braking
DESCRIPTION	•  Engine speed drops to idle but vehicle coasts when accelerator pedal is released when low vehicle speed. •  Engine braking does not operate even though accelerator pedal is released on a down slope.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	This malfunction symptom is basically the same as, "No.8 Abnormal shifting (Shift pattern differs from normal)". (See NO.8 ABNORMAL SHIFTING (SHIFT PATTERN DIFFERS FROM NORMAL) [DJVA-EL].) •  Clutch burnt, slippage ―  Line pressure low ―  Input signal malfunction (Characteristic defective) •  Input/turbine speed sensor •  VSS •  Sensor GND ―  Control solenoid malfunction (Sticking) •  Belt grip pressure linear solenoid •  Shift control solenoid No.1 •  Shift control solenoid No.2 •  Body GND ―  Control valve body malfunction (Improper operation, stuck, restrict oil line) •  Cannot recognize a down slope. ―  Grade sensor learning not completed ―  Grade sensor malfunction (AT warning light illuminates)
