HEADLIGHT LEVELING ACTUATOR

id091800011200

Purpose

•  The optical axis amount is calculated based on the target optical axis signal from the AFS (adaptive front lighting system) control module to move the optical axis. (with AFS)
•  The optical axis amount is calculated based on the target optical axis signal from the auto leveling control module to move the optical axis. (without AFS)

Function

•  The amount of expansion/contraction of the shaft is determined by the ratio of the target optical axis signal voltage and the power supply voltage of the headlight leveling actuator, and the motor is driven.

Construction

•  The headlight leveling actuator is integrated with the front combination light.
•  The headlight leveling actuator consists of a motor which expands/contracts the shaft, a shaft, and a microcomputer which calculates the shaft expansion/contraction amount.
•  The headlight leveling actuator shaft and reflector are assembled using clips.

Operation

With AFS

1.  When the AFS control module receives a target optical axis signal, the ratio between the target optical axis signal voltage and the power supply voltage of the headlight leveling actuator is calculated.

2.  The headlight leveling actuator determines the shaft expansion/contraction amount from the calculated ratio to drive the motor.

3.  When the motor is driven, the optical axis moves by the contraction/expansion of the shaft and the movement of the reflector.

Without AFS

1.  When the auto leveling control module receives a target optical axis signal, the ratio between the target optical axis signal voltage and the power supply voltage of the headlight leveling actuator is calculated.

2.  The headlight leveling actuator determines the shaft expansion/contraction amount from the calculated ratio to drive the motor.

3.  When the motor is driven, the optical axis moves by the contraction/expansion of the shaft and the movement of the reflector.
