Purpose

• Flashes when a malfunction occurs in the headlight auto leveling system to notify the user that the headlight auto leveling system has a malfunction.

Function

• When a malfunction occurs in the headlight auto leveling system, the AFS control module performs DTC inspection and outputs DTCs to the instrument cluster.

Construction/Operation

• When the microcomputer in the instrument cluster receives a AFS OFF indicator light flashing request, it controls the flashing of the AFS OFF indicator light based on the received flashing request.

• The operations until the AFS OFF indicator light flashes are as follows:

Note

• When the ignition is switched ON, the AFS control module illuminates the AFS OFF indicator light for 3 s to check the light bulb and indicate that the AFS OFF indicator light bulb is normal.

1. When a malfunction occurs in the headlight auto leveling system, the AFS control module sends a AFS OFF indicator light flashing request to the instrument cluster.

2. When the instrument cluster receives the AFS OFF indicator light flashing request, it flashes the AFS OFF indicator light based on the flashing request.

Operations when DTCs are output

1. When the AFS control module performs DTC inspection, it outputs DTCs to the instrument cluster.

2. The instrument cluster operates the AFS OFF indicator light to flash based on the input signal.
